2015-09-29mwifiex: fix driver init failure under memory pressureXinming Hu
64k Tx and Rx buffers are allocated during driver initialization for SDIO level data aggregations. When host is under memory pressure situation, kzalloc() request for 64k may fail. We will try allocating 32k buffers and disable our rx single port aggreagation feature in this situation. If the allocation still fails, we will disable our sdio multport aggregation feature as well. In this way, we will transmit and receive packets one by one, thus reduce the demand for big memory. 2015-08-13mwifiex: claim sdio bus while downloading the firmwareAniket Nagarnaik
Our 8887 A2 chip can have separate firmware images for bluetooth and WLAN. We observed an issue during parallel downloading of these images by btmrvl and mwifiex drivers. This patch claims sdio bus before starting of the firmware download in mwifiex and releases it after completion to fix the problem. Since 1fb654fd97ff("mmc: sdio: add reset callback to bus operations"), sdio cards can be power cycled using mmc_hw_reset. The use mmc_remove_host/mmc_add_host is discouraged, because these are internal functions to the mmc core and should only be used by mmc hosts Signed-off-by: Andreas Fenkart <afenkart@gmail.com> Acked-by: Amitkumar Karwar <akarwar@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2015-06-02mwifiex: device dump support via devcoredump frameworkAmitkumar Karwar
Currently device dump generated in the driver is retrieved using ethtool set/get dump commands. We will get rid of ethtool approach and use devcoredump framework. Device dump can be trigger by cat /debugfs/mwifiex/mlanX/device_dump and when the dump operation is completed, data can be read by cat /sys/class/devcoredump/devcdX/data We have prepared following script to split device dump data into multiple files. [root]# cat mwifiex_split_dump_data.sh #!/bin/bash # usage: ./mwifiex_split_dump_data.sh dump_data fw_dump_data=$1 mem_type="driverinfo ITCM DTCM SQRAM APU CIU ICU MAC" for name in ${mem_type[@]} do sed -n "/Start dump $name/,/End dump/p" $fw_dump_data > tmp.$name.log if [ ! -s tmp.$name.log ] then rm -rf tmp.$name.log else #Remove the describle info "Start dump" and "End dump" sed '1d' tmp.$name.log | sed '$d' > /data/$name.log if [ -s /data/$name.log ] then echo "generate /data/$name.log" else sed '1d' tmp.$name.log | sed '$d' > /var/$name.log echo "generate /var/$name.log" fi rm -rf tmp.$name.log fi done Signed-off-by: Amitkumar Karwar <akarwar@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Cathy Luo <cluo@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>

2015-06-02mwifiex: fix SDIO firmware dump problemAmitkumar Karwar
It's been observed that firmware doesn't go back to normal state when all firmware memories are dumped. As a result, further commands are blocked. 2015-03-30mwifiex: recover from skb allocation failures during RXZhaoyang Liu
This patch adds recovery mechanism for SDIO RX during SKB allocation failures. For allocation failures during multiport aggregation, we skip and drop RX packets. 2015-03-30mwifiex: Fix issue in the SDIO reset path of mwifiex.Maithili Hinge
SDIO reset was not happening properly on mwifiex as cancel_work_sync in mwifiex_sdio_remove used to kill the calling work function itself. With patch '960d6d08e39 "mwifiex: delay skb allocation for RX until cmd53 over"' we no more pass skb parameter to MP aggregation setup helper function. We instead pass length to be aggregated. This patch fixes an issue where we were passing length parameter of NULL skb to aggregation routine resulting into crash. We should instead pass rx_len received from mp_regs. 2015-03-16mwifiex: delay skb allocation for RX until cmd53 overZhaoyang Liu

2015-03-16mwifiex: add SDIO rx single port aggregationZhaoyang Liu
This patch brings in support for SDIO single port rx aggregation to mwifiex. Maximum read size support by SDIO cmd53 is 64K. Based on multi port aggregation which is already part of mwifiex, idea here is multiple packets received in FW can be aggregated into single buffer. A separate upload type is defined for such packet aggregated to single port. Packets from this single buffer are later deaggregated into individual packets. This way, driver can receive more packets each time through single SDIO cmd53; thereby reducing no of times MMC bus is accessed. SDIO SP aggregation support is advertised by FW during load time and driver would get FW block size in command response of HostCmd_CMD_SDIO_SP_RX_AGGR_CFG. When aggregation port limit is reached, we stop aggregation and the data is sent to firmware. It is observed that one less packet than the port limit is aggregated in this case. ex. 15 instead of 16. 2014-05-16mwifiex: restore current SDIO write port in failure casesAvinash Patil

This results into leaking one port and hole in SDIO write port bitmap. Restore current write port and reset bitmap accordingly in failure cases to avoid this.
